Our new house also has over 200m2 and we manage with a standard heat pump. Since I don't want anything else, I don't know what it costs compared to gas. But if there isn't even a gas connection, I can't imagine such a big price difference.

We calculated it and really come out much cheaper that way. We also have extra high walls in the house, which might also play a role.
