By the way... no, it's not living space because of that. Neither heated nor used as living space in any way. Just dry, covered, and lockable and also usable as a double garage within a very short time, even in summer, 95% of the time.

They were the most annoying problem. When we then built our own home, it was actually clear to me right away: There must be a lockable garage next to the house! A carport was out of the question. already summed it up correctly: Surely there are advantages and disadvantages to a garage or a garage door, but the advantages definitely outweigh the disadvantages for me. I would like to add that it is also possible to use the garage as an enclosed space, e.g. for celebrations.
