We excluded floating vinyl flooring because it combines the disadvantages of various floors for us. The reason we chose vinyl in the first house was that our supplier offered it fully glued down. This gives it a similar appearance to laminate but makes it much easier to maintain – it can be cleaned wet, like tiles.

With floating vinyl flooring, we did not see a sufficient difference from laminate in terms of maintenance, and it looks even more "artificial" visually.

I absolutely cannot confirm that. We have the Modular One in Oak Pure Natural from Parador on the ground floor and Rigid Vinyl from HORI in the basement and bathrooms. Everyone who visits is very impressed. We have the entire ground floor with the Parador vinyl and it is extremely robust. 3 small children, a dog with claws, even glowing coals that sometimes fall from the fireplace onto the floor cause no damage. You can also easily wipe floating vinyl.

I think this vinyl installed as a floating floor always looks completely like plastic. Terrible.

Thanks for your experience

We have currently come to design flooring that is PVC and plasticizer-free instead of vinyl

We have selected the following manufacturers for this

Parador - Modular One
HORI - Disano
Meister

What we definitely like is if the floor also has an authentic texture (a tactile grain in the floor similar to real wood)

how is the texture with Modular One?

Currently we are also considering whether high-quality laminate might still be an alternative

e.g. Parador or Meister laminate

What would you recommend to us rather, high-quality laminate or the aforementioned design flooring?

Is there actually vinyl flooring with a surrounding V-groove? I have only seen that with laminate so far and I think it looks super chic. See: HORI Laminat Profi Royal Eiche rustikal Landhausdiele

For example, there is the Parador Modular One with a 4-V joint

To be honest, I haven't really dealt with the joint yet

Your HARO looks good.
Question: the black joint, is it just black or is there really a gap where dirt could collect, for example?

I think the joint is just black all around, right?
