How about linoleum, it is also a natural building material and is now available in many variants.

The heat transfer coefficient is somewhat important to me. I have also come across vinyl. However, it hasn't really convinced me in real life yet ... but I haven't seen it laid on a large scale either.

The problem without gluing, however, with laminate and parquet is that the required heating load is already significantly increased as a result. At least according to what I have read so far. Or am I on the wrong track?

I still don't quite understand what is meant by dead and alive in relation to the flooring. I do understand what you mean, but I can't really comprehend it. People spend the whole day wearing clothes made from crude oil, eating their food out of Tupperware, brushing their teeth with plastic, working with computers made of plastic, but when it comes to flooring, it always has to be completely natural for the sake of - "Wohngesundheit". I appreciate wood very much, also as flooring, but I don't quite understand the argument of "dead and alive".

During that period, there was generally a lot of negligence in what was brought into or installed in apartments. This is firmly ingrained in some minds...

Well, I once read an Ökotest article from 2012 (I think), in which the new vinyl/PVC floors didn't fare so well regarding harmful substances... However, the question also arises how healthy the emissions from laminate sealants and carpets are...
