Well – since, I think, it is very common for the switch to be placed next to the window and they did not see it anywhere else in the room, the burglars probably successfully felt around.
Apart from that – a rather unusual method (even had not heard of it yet). Above all – you first have to come up with the idea that this can be done.
The consideration to install the switch centrally in the room is not so bad – but possibly a bit more expensive (more cables, possibly combining several windows, etc.). Whether this still fits into the budget, everyone can only answer for themselves.

That’s again the typical case of thinking otherwise. You secure everything well and then shoot yourself in the foot with such an “obvious” mistake. .

If I remember correctly, RC2, 3, etc. also refer to the frame, but not the glass, right? If laminated safety glass has not been installed, RC2 is of no use if the offender is targeting the glass. Correct me if I am wrong.

Hello,

For genuine RC windows, laminated safety glass is of course installed for security; after installation, there is a certificate for this. This is one of the reasons why these windows are so expensive and also why builders often like to skip it.

If the window installed is the one you have in mind in my opinion – RC N – the laminated safety glass is omitted, but the mushroom cams and olives are given greater attention. This should – together with electric shutters and only on the ground floor and maybe above the garage – be the minimal basic protection, provided that certified windows are not included in the budget.

Rhenish greetings

Exactly, that’s how it was (and by the way, that’s how we do it too, RC2 with VSG everywhere and electric shutters). Therefore, I fully agree with your posting.
