Thanks for the idea.
I will try that tomorrow. I think with an angled wall or interlocking rooms, everything should look a bit less like just lining things up.

The children would like to have their own area far away from us, because of visitors at our place or theirs. Then they just have to be on the northwest/east side.

The storage room will not be the classic storage room (decorations, winter stuff etc.) as one would imagine. Rather, as I think I wrote somewhere already, a cellar replacement room for the master of the house. At the moment we live in a rented row house and he goes back and forth several times a day in summer between the cellar and the garden (of course through the living room), so near the garden/courtyard with an outside door.

I would refrain from slanting walls just for effects, that doesn’t necessarily have to loosen things up.

In my opinion, it would make sense to place the entrance so that it branches off in different directions towards the parents and the children.

That is quite a change from a bungalow. On several floors you can now easily find out which rooms can better and which less well "handle" having long distances between them.

Isn’t it the case that not the entire lot is available, but only the white part is marked for development?

I rummaged a bit through my previous "sketches" on other matters. All this is just intended as suggestions, since no solution seems to fit 100%. ---------------- Example from a long plot with a southern driveway. The house is basically a bungalow, but for the children there is a sleeping gallery created by a shed roof, also working in the gallery with a shed roof over the central dining/cooking area and storage with a shed roof over the garage. Some things are better visible as a PDF. Floor plans ground floor and intermediate levels: Floor plan ground floor again with sectional views in the shed roof areas .. as well as views attached as PDF.

Then some attempts based on the Swedish bungalow principle, so also eating/cooking at the center. --------- approx. 150 sqm and approx. 168 sqm You can rotate and mirror them ... maybe the approaches fit.

And then 2 more examples ...
Hallway avoidance ... that is the use of passage areas, which must be present anyway in rooms like living/dining, as simultaneous passage to other areas (this is also the principle of Swedish bungalows).

And then again design the hallway area so that possibly suitable closet niches are created as storage space and thus double use of the hallway area

As said, just to be understood as suggestions.

I myself would probably try to design truly around cooking/eating
