Thank you very much. I'll show it to hubby right away.

A dishwasher on the top is a must-have, I have it now and won't give it up, just like drawers instead of hinged doors, hubby has already bought a large exhaust hood. I also already have a base cabinet with a waste system in mind.

We agreed yesterday to write an email to the general contractor (GU). The planning was started with another supervisor. Then a new one came into the company who was assigned to us. Only he has so far sold more houses than planned. We want our old planner back.

The two glass doors are definitely planned by us as well. Funny enough, also with a transom.
The side entrance door is my husband's journeyman's piece. 26 years ago, he rebuilt the front door including transom for his parents' house. Unfortunately, it was never installed and stood all those years in the showroom of his training company, so it is practically new. We thought the transom might possibly be placed in the guest room on the hallway wall. Children's bathroom sounds good too.

I just noticed that my program was once again set to 42.5 cm exterior walls and you only planned with 36.5 cm. The exterior dimensions of my solution would therefore be correspondingly 12 cm smaller in each direction.

The gross floor area would then be approximately 218 sqm, of which about 181.5 sqm is living/usable area and about 36.5 sqm for walls etc., i.e. construction floor area.

So, and now sketched into the site plan. Garage with side room indicated with the external dimensions 7x9 m.

Consider Yvonne's post #52 as if it were fully co-signed by me. A few weeks ago I already rambled about symmetry (that it is often an attempt, even for proportion dyslexics, to create aesthetics), but here I cannot see any – except for the repeated dimensions of the wall sections between windows in several places. The hallway brings you decisively to the final round in "Germany searches for the house with the most corners." It looks like a master craftsman’s exam task for tile or carpet layers, and the next time the vacuum cleaner salesman rings, he will ask if he can rent it as a test track for robot vacuums. Twisty like in the girls’ boarding school Schloss Gruselstein. I also have never felt I have seen a dining table standing so "perfectly" in the way. Besides, the shed to be demolished seems to me almost ideally placed to be used in a carport. Especially given the current prices for garages, I would consider that very favorably. Kerstin's latest counter-design impressively shows a successful "antithesis" which I like much better apart from the windows on the rear side, which are punched too strictly in rhythm. In particular, the angle placed on the correct side is a great gain.

The thread does not exist yet

... and yes, I deliberately "punched out" the windows on the back like that. It was an experiment, influenced by the spacing of the windows in the living room (where I consider floor-to-ceiling exits completely unnecessary) and it just happened to fit quite well in the adjacent rooms as well.

Symmetry is, for example, present again in the kitchen window, kitchen terrace door, and utility room window, with identical window spacing. The purpose is to let the sun into the open dining/cooking area.
