Yes, here Telekom is laying copper and Inexio fiber optic. I think (or at least hope?) that they are independent of each other.

Fiber optic into the house. It’s already on the property as far as I know. They just need to send a company to do the digging.
We also already have multi-duct house entry.
The municipality is already aware, they are also in contact with them regarding the entire building area. But we’re a bit off the grid because we are somewhat "later" compared to the others.

That’s a good idea, I’ll ask if they can do that. At least I’ve heard the excuse "specialist department will call you back" often enough now. :D

Yes, you have to know, right? Are you getting a fiber optic connection to your house now, or are the last meters going over copper cable?

That means the pipe is laid and then the fiber optic cable is blown in? That alone can take a while because the completion report has to be there first before someone can come to blow in and connect the fiber optic cable, and the main distribution frame also has to be finished for that.

And once there is a completion report for that, the provider (Telekom) can activate the connection.

And all of that can take weeks...

We are getting 2 connections. Telekom (copper) and Inexio (fiber optic, directly into the house, not via copper). We have no problems with Telekom, that seems to be progressing as expected. But of course we are more interested in the fiber optic cable than the 1000 Mbps line from Telekom. ;)

Why do you actually still have copper when [Glasfaser] is coming anyway? Telephony is now almost always VoIP.

It was included in the house contract. In the first house, we only had fiber optic installed. In this one, I have to admit I was put off by the Google reviews of the fiber optic company, which is why I "just to be safe" also wanted Telekom in the house. Since I currently live in a house without any telephone connection and have to play shooters over the mobile network, I thought - better copper cable than no cable at all. ;)

We did the same, it ended up taking over 2 years until the promised fiber optic arrived, and only because we and our neighbor pressured the company. We were then houses 2 and 3 in the village to have fiber optic.
