Alright then. In such areas, Telekom's interest in development is obviously not particularly high, so they resort to charlatans.

I don't hear for the first time that you only have Edge and the big ones like Vodafone or Telekom don't install anything modern there, but rather some more or less known third party.

That's why the field only costs €50/m² and not 250 or 500, one might think.

Without (real) broadband, I wouldn't build at location X nor rent an apartment today.

Neither would we. Fiber optic was a basic requirement for us to buy the property.
The field was also advertised by the municipality with "fiber optic connected to the property." Therefore, we bought it, hoping to somehow manage the last 5 meters into our utility room as well.

Currently, I am optimistic. I received a call this morning. Technician appointment is set. Cross your fingers that everything works out.

Maybe you should have highlighted this key statement instead of beating around the bush. Apart from that... you have no idea what jobs people here actually have, do you? Broadband is great... but a highway connection is still important for a significant portion of the working population. Especially for those who don’t just talk big but actually drive to customers to assemble or commission something...

And... let’s be honest... where there’s a highway, you usually also have good internet... but there the price per square meter rarely costs only 50 EUR ;)

And the rest... whatever you keep babbling together and trying to pass off as knowledge really needs no further comment. It can only be satire. Full of contradictions, simplified, embarrassing.

For me, basically, it is secondary who does what professionally or how much the square meter cost. The plot was offered with "fiber optic adjacent," and we already have neighbors in the street who already have it running. Accordingly, I am not the type to sit down and say "what are you going to do?", but I put all the levers available to me into motion.

The combination of cheap land and good internet is because the whole area is so far out in the sticks that you can't even get a reasonably good connection over copper, and the expansion has been planned for decades. Now that fiber optic is being installed, the towns in this area are prioritized for connection because they previously really had a terrible network.

Fiber optic is apparently connected. Only the last few meters into the house are dragging on. I would have at least gotten something different for the transition, but pragmatism is apparently rare when working fully remote in IT ;) Good luck getting it done soon.
