Last year we considered buying an older house and came across the chalk paints from the brand. I looked into it a bit, saw before/after comparisons, and thought it was pretty good. However, there is no practical experience with it, as we ultimately did not buy the house.

Apart from that, I can absolutely understand that you don’t want to leave it like that, not even for a year – I wouldn’t either. If you don’t feel comfortable, a year is quite a long time.

We have laminate flooring throughout the entire house, which I believe cost around 18€/m2 at the hardware store. We have been satisfied with it for 5 years. It was the mid-price range and looks very stylish. Our laminate is extra wide, so it looks like wooden floorboards. Under the sofa, you can see scratches from the feet, but otherwise everything is completely fine despite having a dog, 2 cats, and 2 children. When choosing, make sure that the matching baseboards are not too expensive.

18 EUR/m² I find quite high for laminate. We paid 12 EUR/m² - by the way also [überbreite].
