Bathroom redesign extra cheap & washing machine connection

Do you think one could lay click laminate over the carpet if it has been thoroughly deep cleaned beforehand? I've seen that something like that is already available for around €6 / m². That would do for a year.

We also need a kitchen / kitchenette for upstairs. I'm currently looking for DIY ideas or used ones on classifieds. Alternatively, we could also spend the 4 thousand euros to get one from IKEA. We're torn. On one hand, it feels like a waste of money for 1-1.5 years. On the other hand, we cook daily and dealing with the worst makeshift stuff during that time isn't cool either. If it were only 2 months, sure, but over a year is quite a bit of lifetime.

You can also create work surfaces and storage with little money or existing things; IKEA has 100 systems and with a bit of creativity you can make it nice. The problem is that we need appliances. Refrigerator (a freestanding fridge is possible), cooktop and extractor, and a sink are the minimum.

There are endless used kitchens on classifieds. I wouldn't buy a new one for 1 year.

I always check there from time to time, the ones I find are either completely trashed for 600€, or if they look okay they want 2000 for it and then say that the fridge and the dishwasher are not included. :rolleyes: But yes - I’m currently looking there more often. If I’m lucky, something decent will still come up. Or I’ll have to widen the search radius a bit.
