Cheap vs expensive laminate? Sealing on .55 vinyl?

We have had both. Good and cheap laminate. In our apartment, fairly cheap laminate was laid (I believe under €10 per sqm). As soon as my child rode his balance bike over it, you could see the scratches. Apparently poor abrasion class. In the house, we laid laminate with a higher abrasion class throughout the entire living area. 8mm thick and (very important!) a reasonably thick underlay. My son rides his sandy Puky over it, the cats with their claw rubbing as well. Nothing visible. It holds up and was also quite easy to lay. The foot feel is good too.

My tip: Good abrasion class, not the thinnest laminate, high-quality underlay, laminate with relief.

We bought at Laminatdepot. Paid €2300 including everything for 100 sqm.

So far absolutely no negative complaints

Hello Changeling, we also have vinyl floors in our current house and we are more than satisfied. I also work from home and have absolutely no problems with any scratches or damage on the floors. I would say save your money and rather have vinyl floors installed in your upper floor as well. I am not a fan of laminate - but a fan of vinyl, because so far we have only had good experiences. We are currently building and have also chosen vinyl floors for our new house.
