Not only sensible, but IMHO absolutely necessary is that everyone creates a list of their wishes and demands, categorized as "Must-Have," "Nice-To-Have," and "No-Go," and then they sit down together to find out whether there can be any solution at all and how much willingness to compromise exists. And then you have to find a planner who will implement the result in a way that is also approvable, which again requires a high degree of willingness to compromise. Without information, no help. And if your building partner comes with their ideas piecemeal as it appears here, it’s time to look for a new building partner.
