It's ok, I just wanted to provide the floor plan afterwards because someone asked.

As you may have noticed, I am positively inclined towards the door from the garage, but in your case I would really reconsider it. I don’t see the added value here. Rather a nice canopy over the front door extending over the entire length of the garage driveway.

You have to imagine it like this: you drive your car into the driveway, press the button for your electric gate and the gate opens. You drive in, get out (probably on the left side) and the garage door is still open. Now you have two paths into the house, both equally long:
1) Passing behind the car, going out through the still open gate and directly into the front door, and you are right inside the hallway. With a canopy even without rain etc.
2) Passing behind the car, back into the garage, through the side door into the utility room, which is a dead end and has no added value, and then through the second door into the hallway.

So you basically have one more door to open and a longer way than simply going through the front door. Mentally run through this scenario and consider how often you will really do this later or if the way through the front door will simply be easier and more comfortable after all.

Yep, that's how I saw it too after I wrote in here. I had already spoken out against the door a few posts earlier. Just wanted to supply the missing floor plan one more time. For us, it might really not be necessary, because as you and some others have already mentioned here, the front door is right next to the garage. Originally, it was intended to get to the car (e.g., for loading or similar) without having to open the garage door. You would always have the possibility to do so. But maybe we can use the money better elsewhere.

I would also suggest passing on the doors more. You don't need that much wall space in one piece. In the utility room, you would have gained a lot of storage space, which you can use well.

Also in the guest bathroom? I'll think about it! Since we're chatting anyway. For reasons of noise insulation, would you plan all walls downstairs out of calciumsandstone? The wall of the kitchen/utility room is still a bit worrying to me (topic hanging cabinets etc.)

It wasn’t meant negatively at all; the discussions here have helped me in one place or another as well. I just wanted to illustrate it for you again.

Regarding your original thought: you still have to open two doors – whether front door + gate or 2x interior door, from my point of view you haven’t gained anything. You could even open the garage door from the inside with a button before putting your shoes on. And when you open the front door, the garage door is already open.

Now I’m curious, what does the floor plan on the upper floor look like?
