Right. I am aware of the lighting issue. And as I said, I initially wanted to integrate an additional window element at the podium height of the stairs. However, this would then be quite pushed into the corner by the garage. And you can really live with artificial light. It's no different in my parents' house – I've never found it a problem until now.

I fully agree with you.

So from the north side then the entrance? Hmm... that would certainly be doable. I'll consider it. Is the thermal problem the only one, or do you see other disadvantages? I think a good insulation should solve the problem. Or rather, there is already a 36 cm wall to the garage anyway (so a standard exterior wall).

Whether this is really just a matter of personal taste (or rather a lack of practice in translating drawings into houses) when someone places a Bavarian house from 1980 next to one from Bavaria 2020, I tentatively mark with a small question mark.

The head of the corridor is on the north side, even if you angle the front door to the west. Thermal and structural aspects interlock here and require at least unnecessary "iso baskets" if you interlock the thermal envelope physically with the garage. Wall thickness has rather symbolic significance on the side.

Bad argument ;) You’re just used to it being like that in your parents' house. However, in your own house, you have a different standard.

I a) don’t believe it looks bad. Although it would be offset on the southeast side, I don’t think it would be disturbing to the exterior appearance in any way. ... and/or b) that it won’t bring anything to the hallway.

I’m not aware that you’re aware of it. If you introduce a disadvantage, okay. Maybe that can be compensated by another advantage. But by having a dark vestibule, an additional hallway without windows, and a stairwell without natural light, you’re introducing three disadvantages regarding lighting. Not even artificial light can compensate for that anymore. One thing is the stairs, the other the living area. Even a glass door would have the disadvantage that there would be no privacy there. When working in the office, you’ll already be confronted with the comings and goings in the hallway. It won’t be a guest room, right?

One says you can, the other that you have to. You will have to live with it if you otherwise don’t let any light into the center of your house. I noticed you don’t even have a window element in the front door. Do you even have a fully glazed front door planned? You have to turn on the light in the vestibule if you want to go to the guest toilet, you have to turn on the light if you want to use the stairs, you have to turn on the light if you want to see anything in the main hallway.

I just think that the whole lighting issue would be solved at once if you swapped the entrance area with the office.

Are you also aware that you won’t have any wall cabinets in the kitchen with this kitchen layout? Spices, cups, everything in the base cabinet. Just asking ;)… some people actually have that right now. For me, it wouldn’t be anything.

Me neither.

I'll start my good program - maybe I'll manage to get a few screenshots of your house in 3D within a reasonable time

both my daughter, I, neighbors do not have wall cabinets. Why should I hang something like that in front of my eyes when cups, glasses, spices, etc. fit into drawers?

I know, my daughter also has none. But it's not about you or your/my daughter or neighbors. I wrote:
