If you want, gladly :D I'm fascinated by how much time some people spend here. Thanks for that.

I'm neither pro nor con regarding wall cabinets. If it fits, you can put some in - but not with us. Instead, there is really a large pantry where some less frequently used kitchen utensils will still find space, and due to the overall length of the kitchen, there will probably be enough space in the lower drawers and cabinets.

Wall cabinets are unnecessary and annoying. Visually usually a disaster. You will never miss them, just leave them out. They are a relic from the 80s..

How high is the ceiling? I ask because my husband and I decided on higher ceilings and I would recommend that to almost everyone of average height. Unfortunately, the cost driver is that the windows and doors also have to be higher. :-(

I know about saunas in the basement from "back in the day" and I'm not such a big fan of them. Most saunas have three closed sides (one side glass) and if there is no natural light "outside in front of the sauna," I find that unpleasant. From my point of view, it is nicer to integrate the sauna into one of the regular bathrooms with plenty of daylight. For the wellness area, only a few/small daylight sources seem to be planned. For many people, wellness or well-being is associated with daylight and perhaps a view of greenery/something beautiful.

I fully agree with that. Therefore, I would never orient a seating area with a backrest towards the window inside the house. In this house, the placement of the sauna in the basement is a very good balancing of the priorities "children," "sleeping," and 2 bathrooms, which I see very well positioned. A staircase to the garden would be important to me, because wellness also happens especially during sauna breaks. A garden sloping down to the basement sauna window would of course be a bit more expensive. And then daylight is there. Whether that survives the priority filter... I find the note from about space for wall cabinets very valuable. Remembering is everything; you can always discard it later. For us, the floor-to-ceiling kitchen with a washing niche is just right. Others manage with flat buildings. Glasses, cutlery, and dishes not used for serving are often better stored near the dining table anyway.

Ceiling height: 2.50m, so standard.

We also have the sauna at home in the basement – not even a shower there (because when the parents’ house was built 30 years ago, it simply wasn’t planned that way). It still runs at least once a week throughout autumn and winter. Since, at least for me, it is mainly used in the evenings, the room is always dark anyway and has to be artificially lit.

That would be an advantage again if the plot sloped a bit more towards the south. But yes, maybe I will at least plan a stairway somewhere in the basement. Even if it’s only through the heating cellar.

What do you think about a roof construction like here in the front corner? It is also a flat roof, but I think it's really well done. Around the corner and then covered by a maximum of 2m might still leave enough light. What do you think about that? Or just provide the bay window with a pitched roof as suggested.
