My architect just replied to me that a glass element on the upper landing would not look good.

What exactly do you/he mean? I would really recommend removing the partition between the entrance area and the hallway, designing the staircase open/airy, and installing a reasonably large window in the stairwell. The garage is only on the ground floor, and even there it won’t take much light from you. The light still comes in anyway??

Well, my pictures were more about the comparison: Staircase separated by a wall WITHOUT window versus open staircase (without wall) WITH window. Once you walk into a dark hole, the other time into a bright, inviting stairwell. But if you want to integrate a window anyway, that's fine :) Is the view that bad or the insight so extreme that it should be small, shallow and possibly with frosted glass?
