Winkelbungalow, cover the terrace fully or partially?

A different thought from a layman: how about a conservatory instead of the roofing? It also comes with fully openable glass elements and shading for the glass roof. But probably not within the budget or doesn't fit for planning reasons.

A mix of both. On top of that, I personally can't do anything with conservatories at all. Either inside or outside. But just my opinion. But thanks for the feedback. I have now decided on the small terrace and will install a cassette awning on the south side of it to optionally enlarge it.

North-facing window: I don't think it's that bad. In summer, you don't need to shade it during the day, unlike the other windows, and light still comes nicely into the room. There is little to no sun coming in, which I don't always find bad.

The entire living-dining area will basically be relatively dark. The window under the sofa has the disadvantage that you will see reflections on the TV because of it. However, not in winter: the sun sets in the southwest then. Thus, during this time of year, the sun will not shine through these two windows significantly. Without guarantee, here is a sketch: blue is the sunlight through your windows, orange through a 2 meter window on the left side Just try searching for “sun position” on Google; there should be a simulator for it. In short, regards

I have read through it completely. My humble opinion:
- I would only cover half of the terrace
- on the left (I assume it is south) I would not just make these "small" casement windows, but a much larger one (facing the terrace) - that would bring in enough light (like now: it really gets dark)
- at the top (I assume west) - the left window definitely floor level and significantly larger.
- on the right (I assume north): I would add a window (floor level) where the couch ends: that provides a clear brightening in the room despite the north orientation - and the couch can still be positioned properly (I would omit the second window facing west - instead make a larger one to the left of the couch.

Thank you for the help.

But then I really don’t know where to put my furniture.
If the terrace door is even bigger, there is no space left.
Bigger and floor-to-ceiling in the top left west also means no more furniture.

In the end, I would only be able to fit the couch.
