May I pick this up again, please? I’ve had the FlexHD lying around for some time now. At the terrace, I have an installation cable hanging from the facade at about 2.50 m height. I have now ordered a keystone module, heat shrink tubes, and a short, flat CAT cable. I would prefer to mount the whole thing as “cleanly” as possible on the wall. Now I at least have to live with having a piece of relatively stiff installation cable plus patch cable on the wall. I’m not really happy about that. I’ve been looking for quite some time for a reasonable, stable, not too ugly surface-mounted box where I can hide the installation cable including the keystone module. Ideally, it should be mountable on the wall outlet of the installation cable. That way I could screw the Flex onto the box and you would “only” see the patch cable going from the box to the Flex. Have you come across anything useful for this? Or anyone else, gladly?

I can't help you with that. With my ventilated facade, there are no such problems. But various camera manufacturers have such mounting boxes. Depending on the wall structure, you could also install the box and paint/overplaster it.

The wall is made only of stone and plaster. It’s probably difficult to install something there.
But the tip about the cameras is good. Strangely, I hadn’t thought of that at all, even though we have such devices on the facade ourselves. Thanks :)

By the way, we are now also installing two FlexHDs for outdoors, specifically on a pipe attached to the antenna mast that protrudes beyond the dish. This will also cover the seating areas at the front of the property. Close to the house (in the radio shadow of the roof and balcony), the terrace will be supplied from the house interior by UAP Pro.

I will probably also be able to hide the installation cable + patch cable waterproof (under a cap) in this pipe. Nevertheless, I ordered 1m of Cellpack heat shrink tubing with adhesive to connect the Keystone module and patch cable waterproof. After all, I don’t want to climb onto the roof regularly :D

And there is still space on the (adjustable) pipe for a weather station that might be installed next year.

Far reaches are possible but slower since usually only 2.4 GHz is used then. It usually doesn't work from inside the house once the windows/doors are closed. Modern glass provides excellent shielding.

Uhhhmmm, our property is not very big ;) That's why "far" was the wrong term. As the crow flies (literally) it's 20m. That should still work well with 5GHz, right? Hopefully, I will be able to report by the end of August. As a "last resort," we could later install outdoor access points at the parking spaces. They are then only 10m away from the terrace.
