White-anthracite - Where does the preference come from?

Elephant with yellow avatar - well done. & : The dose makes the poison. In suburban single-family housing developments, the microclimate is significantly altered by too much concrete-asphalt-stone-covered area. In the Thuringian Forest, the influence of a single house is different than in, for example, Kaarst Mitte, where the birds have noticeably become rarer. Regarding the term "eco-terrorism" - if everyone who points out disproportionate sealing belongs to this group, I am happy to be part of it. However, I think that a (again dose) certain amount of "vices" is human and part of life.

Spam mode: on

I find white plaster facades with white windows and red gable/hip roofs = downright ugly ....

But it's all okay as long as I don't have to sit on my terrace and look at it

We really have luxury problems

: I agree with you about the dosage, but in front of the house - whether you like it or not - there is absolutely no sealing at all, the rainwater seeps away everywhere. The so-called "eco-paving" in the driveway is particularly good in this respect (and by the way also quite expensive). Behind the house, we have wagtails and every year a hedgehog spends the winter...

Most people don't consciously choose the combo that way. There is the development plan, which for example specified the combo here. Since I don't like clinker, it fit with regulated white facade. Windows in my parents' house and previous house were already gray, you just don't question that.

The combo is also available to most home builders for a small extra charge.

Without extra charge: 's quote. Harsh words hurt me for the builders who can only afford white/white/red or have to build like that.

PS: I find Berny's front yard depressing.

One definitely cannot approach this question with reason, as you can read above. Design and eco-terrorists declare anyone with a different opinion/ taste an environmental criminal or a taste troll. Whoever is not with me is against me and therefore inferior. Tolerance only for my views, etc... Strange times! For example, we chose it exactly that way; many years ago I already left responsibility for colors, design, etc. to my wife. What she likes, I like too, period. And she finds this white/anthracite combination simply chic. That’s enough for me. We really do not find it depressing mood-wise; after almost 2 years, we still like it just as much as at the beginning. We don’t like the often seen red/white or yellow/blue at all, nor cute flower beds with garden gnomes or the like; but we would never attack anyone or label them with derogatory adjectives for that. Everyone should be free to do as they think—if it is not predetermined in such a new development. Sometimes even the type and height of the planting is prescribed there. I think that’s stupid. But why do I, a fool, also send a picture here where the area in front of the house is shown? I actually just wanted to illustrate the house colors according to the question. The times of genuine tolerance and culture of discussion and openness in dealing with each other are probably really over for good; actually a pity...

The white/anthracite period has been going on for 10 years, if not longer.

What she likes does not have to please us, though. Period. You want tolerance? You have it. Everyone should participate in ecology. There is no fashion or taste in that.
