You can use an expensive oak board from DSvhjreiner but also, for example, have 40mm multiplex cut to size at the timber yard for little money, edges chamfered, oiled and done. Or MDF, which even comes pre-colored red or black or can be painted or sprayed in any color you want, your imagination knows no bounds and all this without profound craftsmanship skills. Depending on the installation situation, you can also simply use a table or worktop from Ikea, there are really beautiful options for little money. I have a steel skid from the locksmith here and on the other side it rests against the wall, which cost about €50. Anyone can be expensive......
