... no - I meant: all base cabinets shifted about 8 cm to the right, the right one then abuts the carousel cabinet and you only have a gap on the left, which is closed with a filler panel.

Oh right, hmmmm true, that would have been an option. Now there's just the hole of the sink... so it has to be like this now.

That was possibly the deal-breaker. Is the sink installed in the countertop in such a way that you can no longer move the cabinet? Not every sink fills the sink cabinet completely ...

And think again about a towel holder in the gap:

Utrusta
Towel rail, white

There is certainly also the same width available from other manufacturers.

I would buy a 20 cm door and modify it..

Cut out 12 cm in the middle and glue it together.

It’s worth a try for me, the door only costs a few euros.

I don’t know the tools your acquaintance has available. I have already shortened something this way on Hemnes, you can’t see it.

Procedure A:

Cut both to size 1 mm shorter. Then lay them together, screw from below and then cut across the joint with a plunge saw. After that, you have two absolutely parallel cutting edges. Loosen the screws again and with a biscuit joiner it will then be possible to join the parts flush on the surface.

Procedure B:
Same principle but with a router with a guide rail.

Hello,
now probably a bit late, but maybe it helps others:
Ikea assumes that "filler strips" to fill small gaps are made from Ikea "side panels." That actually works quite well, but the side panels are not as thick (about 15 mm) as the fronts (about 19 mm), but that doesn't bother me. The side panels are available in every front color.
So cut precisely (always with a guide rail for the circular saw and keep in mind that one side tears out a bit and the other is nice and clean, so do tests!). I painted the cut edge with matte varnish RAL 9001 because I have fronts from Bodbyn light ivory. The color fits perfectly. Then glued the filler strips, for example, with mounting adhesive.
I am very satisfied with it.
