Funny: Just saw on the large user-generated special offers platform, on the big river there is currently a Rhodos Rondo bordeaux 350 cm parasol listed for 250.49 EUR. The x2 would be roughly your budget. The comments there are also fairly positive.

oh too bad. for me now too. It was probably a pricing error after all, or the seller didn't have that many.

Hello, I advocate for a fixed roof. For our (7x4m) we paid about 8500,- EUR. We had the four massive pillars installed right during the house construction phase. The terrace roof (metal on top, wood underneath) was then installed by our house builder about 2 years later. We love our terrace! It provides pleasant shading in the summer (we also have a south side) and the furniture stays protected from the weather all year round outdoors. We also don’t feel it darkens the interior rooms. However, we have enough windows all around. Here are pictures (already shown several times, but over time they tend to disappear into oblivion).

I also tend more towards the solution "feste Überdachung". So there are very, very many instructions on the internet. Some planning and research and then order glued laminated timber, order acrylic or glass roof with aluminum rail system and build it yourself. That's how I did it. Cost: approx. 3000 EUR for approx. 34sqm of roofing.

We are more inclined towards a pergola with a louvered roof or a side-guided awning. We don't really see the advantage of a fixed roof with glass or similar for our needs. If anything, fixed roof + awning/louvers (but that would be unnecessarily expensive for us). So if we invest the money, we are more likely to go for a pergola with louvers/awning without a glass roof or fixed covering.

I am actually interested in a self-build as well - but with aluminum it is certainly much more complex than with wood?
