The awning was a topic, but with the size only with a wind sensor and it reacts so sensitively that you are sitting with the cake in the sun at a little gust of wind. When the neighbors have their umbrellas closed because of the wind, we are still sitting relaxed.

I once received an offer of about €2,500 for an awning of that size from an awning online shop.

I did the same with a large nationwide manufacturer for a roof including an underlying awning. The price is rather around €8,500.

We really find it difficult to decide on something. Basically, I would be PRO awning, but I also have my doubts about the size. I actually don't want to go smaller...

That's why the advice is to go with photos to one (or several) specialty stores and get information, I didn't know our system (search shadesign) before either.

We had a fairly large one, but since there was always wind here even during the hottest weather, we often couldn’t extend it fully. We disabled the wind sensor in the very first summer, it was incredibly annoying. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t want to have an awning anymore.

If you only want to spend around 4k, the reasonable options will eventually become limited. We have an appointment with a dealer on the weekend and will get some advice there. Maybe we will still gain some insight.

There are so-called pergola awnings that are guided by side rails and have posts at the front. If applicable, that could be an alternative.
