Although I am building in the capital city (yes, really still in Berlin itself), no decent DSL will be available at my construction site (max. 6mbit). So far, I have thought either Vodafone Cable (where I have not yet received an offer) or Telekom Hybrid. Until now, I assumed cable. But reports of total outages in the evening and disadvantages due to shared bandwidth make me consider whether I should take Telekom after all. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the two technologies? Side question: Other classic DSL providers like 1&1 or O2 offer me higher bandwidths up to 50 Mbit. Can that even be true if Telekom only promises 6 Mbit? They don’t have their own lines (as far as I know) but use Telekom’s infrastructure, right? Thanks and best regards Tolentino

LTE is ultimately also shared. It can vary greatly depending on the weather, other users, time of day, and other factors. When choosing, I would possibly take cable, even if I deeply despise it.

If the owner of the line only offers you 6 Mbit, the other resellers cannot do more either. They will then initiate a bandwidth measurement, and the same result will come out as with Telekom.

Thought so.
I just fear now that the connection costs at Vodafone will be much more expensive. We'll see.

So I have been using the Telekom hybrid connection for two years, of which almost one year was continuous load due to home office, and so far I have no complaints. Recently, I had advertising from Telekom in the mailbox that now apparently more than 6 MBit should finally be possible, but due to lack of pressure I have not dealt with it yet ...

Are the experiences with Vodafone Kabel really that bad? They would install a 1GBit/s connection for us, while Telekom offers 250MBit/s DSL, there is no fiber optic yet. I actually didn’t want to install both separately and would therefore tend to go with Vodafone, even though the connection costs are a bit higher. It would just be annoying if after a few months you would still prefer Telekom.

I have had almost exclusively bad experiences in numerous projects. Cancellations, poor performance, no IPv4 possible with some plans, etc. I do not recommend it to anyone. Of course, these could also be unfortunate individual cases.
