Telekom Hybrid or Vodafone Cable - Advantages & Disadvantages for Internet

Ah, I just read that hybrid is bad for gaming. On one hand because of ping and on the other hand some servers apparently don’t accept the hybrid.

We have no problems with cable. Telekom would have been too slow as well. Switched to native dual stack. The only downside is that you can't just swap the modem easily.

But none of you hybrid users are gamers by any chance, right? It's kind of important for our family.

Yes, I am a gamer. Not like before, but when kids, house, garden, and wife allow it, I like to play first-person shooters like Battlefield 1 or so. That worked perfectly. The question would be, what does hybrid enable for you? Like, what maximum bandwidth do you achieve? I believe there was a map with LTE coverage from Telekom?!

The coverage is great, but unfortunately it says nothing about how many cells are available and how many users share the ones I then fall into. According to posts online, it also seems that volume tariff customers are prioritized over hybrid customers when it comes to bandwidth. There is talk of lower throughput rates than with throttling in the volume tariff, in the evening hours.... I wouldn’t want that.

We also have the Gigabit line from Vodafone. Telekom only delivers 50 Mbit, of which probably only 50% arrives. So far nothing negative (we also watch IP-TV over it). Always fast enough. The 500 line we had before could only do Dualstack with Powerupload. With the 1Gbit line it works without additional costs.
