I am now with o2, Classic Flex M. Everything works perfectly there. But I just saw that I have had the contract since 10/2016, so I don't know if anything has changed with the cable, but it doesn't really sound like it.

We had Vodafone in the old house. Now Telekom. The difference is, VF is cheaper. But what costs nothing is also worth nothing. More prone to disruptions, and then try to reach their fault service. Phew. They can do mobile communications, great network, but not cheap either. Landline, forget it. Telekom is a whole different story. In three years and 8 months, not a single network outage, if there was a fault, a router reset was enough. They not only reach the promised speed of fifty thousand, they sometimes significantly exceed it. Today's speed test gave 58. They are reachable and, very importantly, spare us from advertising calls about new contracts, etc. VF was good at that, advertising calls.

But you're talking about pure DSL, right? Not DSL Hybrid (i.e. DSL + LTE)?

There are countless variables in all cases why one thing works better for one person and another thing for someone else ... that cannot be generalized.

I have had KabelBW/VF for years, practically with zero outages and currently a 500mb connection. Two streets away, there are constant complaints about outages ...

Maybe ask neighbors what works best for them. And define your personal technical requirements.

I am talking about dsl. Landline. We also have the Hybridbox vf gigacube. Use it on board. It is good and affordable in the flex version.

Take the cable and if it really causes problems, think further. DOCSIS is basically not a bad thing; how well and reliably it works depends on the technology (quality of the in-house wiring, which is often a huge problem in old multi-family houses) on one hand, and on the utilization of the node you are connected to on the other. The fact is, technically all customers on a node share the available bandwidth. Currently, DOCSIS 3.1 is being rolled out nationwide, recently also in the upload. This will ease the problem somewhat in the long run, but especially in the upload area it will still take some time.
