I didn’t rely on the construction crew at Telekom at all, but bribed those from SH Netz AG with a certificate; they put the empty conduit next to the power cable.

The civil engineering crew was not necessary for me at all, I was the crew myself. Otherwise, it would have taken even longer and I would have found the fiber somewhere on the terrace.... or something like that. Nevertheless, the guys had to show up with the fiber optic conduit to thread it into my empty conduit.

That's true. That was also one thing. So, the empty conduit inside. I told those guys from Netz AG, just dig it up, next week ZVO is coming with gas and water, they'll dig it up again anyway... and will almost certainly hit your power cable. That's always how it is. The Netz AG guy laughs and says, I’m not allowed, risk of accident. I say, it’s my land, I stand by it, put a lamp there and that’s it. He was convinced... the trench stayed open. So I call Telekom’s construction service, blah blah, dig up, empty conduit is there, next week gas and water, blah blah, never that convenient again, please please. Send the fiber optic sleeve through, ok. Imagine what then happened. A miracle. The Telekom lady gives me a cell number of the site manager of the company in Kiel that installs these sleeves for Telekom. Try your luck, she says. I try. The site manager, yes, we are just here and there, that’s not far. I say, everything everything open, ready. About a week window, we also pulled a ribbon through the empty conduit as a pilot rope, the Netz AG guys were really good. And what can I tell you, two days later the fiber optic sleeve was in the house. It didn’t help anyway. It still dragged on until December. Karsten

For me, quite pragmatically, called to dig up to lay water and electricity into the house. Appointment possible only 5 weeks later. The next day, the Telekom subcontractor threw cables into the house. We laid everything. 5 weeks later, he connected at the street and installed his control box inside. Paid 799 or 899 euros for almost doing it ourselves.

But it’s finished. That counts. What the South Germans have to put up with with MagentaServiceking, we’re still lucky by comparison.
