I will stay on this thread regarding our Swedish element house BJ 1972. We originally excluded the renovation but are currently still giving it a chance, as long as it does not require too many compromises.
The sticking point was an unpleasant odor. My concern was that some of it might remain. After the previous owners moved out, the odor decreased, and it seems to be a combination of two main sources: the drain in the bathroom and especially a wall damage on the exterior wall caused by a rodent. Since this has diminished, I would like to reconsider preserving the basic structure and roof.
We have the wall construction with Coloroc stones, bitumen-impregnated hard fiberboard, mineral wool, wood fiberboard. Basically, I see possibilities to create a proper wall construction through measures from the outside (wood fiberboard, plaster) and inside (insulated installation level). Since the roof is not developed, I also suspect a relatively easy subsequent improvement of the insulation here.
The floor construction has already been mentioned here as well: bitumen-impregnated wood fiberboards, plywood boards, parquet. I partly feel unevenness here. The advantage is that it is all relatively easy to dismantle. However, I am less enthusiastic about this than the wall construction. The raw construction ceiling height is 252 cm.
Desirable for us would be a large window front (idea in the attached picture, but only on one floor) that almost replaces an entire exterior wall, underfloor heating, and preservation of the ceiling height.
Does anyone have experience with the installation of solar tiles, as the statics here could allegedly become difficult?
Regards
