That's why - in the next kitchen I'll get a pull-out pantry or two; baking utensils also need to be stored
You won't be happy with a pull-out pantry - unless you like lifting weights. I had a narrow one, 30 cm wide, in a used kitchen I took over: great, I thought. When I put my packages of sugar, flour, and pasta inside, I really had a lot of trouble closing and opening it and therefore didn't feel like stuffing the gaps with small items that I need more often. Actually, I was able to fit these (above-mentioned) items in a smaller cabinet with doors, since on 2 meters of pull-out pantry height only about 4-5 baskets fit. You also need space at the top to take things out - not really efficient, this pull-out pantry stuff...
This also applies to extra-wide drawers.
And why not two drawers
because it's not about width or number, but height!?
