You won't be happy with a pull-out pantry - unless you like lifting weights. I had a narrow one, 30 cm wide, in a used kitchen I took over: great, I thought. When I put my packages of sugar, flour, and pasta inside, I really had a lot of trouble closing and opening it and therefore didn't feel like stuffing the gaps with small items that I need more often. Actually, I was able to fit these (above-mentioned) items in a smaller cabinet with doors, since on 2 meters of pull-out pantry height only about 4-5 baskets fit. You also need space at the top to take things out - not really efficient, this pull-out pantry stuff...

This also applies to extra-wide drawers.

because it's not about width or number, but height!?

I know that it is about the height. That is why small spices go in the normal drawer and tall spice mills in the other tall drawer.

I will let you know when the time comes

I’ve had this "Kroosschublade," as the Rhinelander calls it, for years now and I’m really fed up. I also don’t feel like/time to create special labeling films. I use that precious time to craft with our Bella.

I really want this cabinet "only" for all the little must-haves, like spices, baking powder & co; maybe also tea, raw and powdered sugar. I don’t think these systems are suitable for heavier weights

Best regards from the Rhineland

I have a 15cm drawer in a 40cm cabinet for the small spices and a 30cm drawer for the spices that don’t fit on top and the rest of the stuff

Spices - my beloved topic, with which my wife only rolls her eyes (at markets I feel an ever stronger pull on my arm at the spice stall every time). Accordingly, I also have a lot of them. We used to have a pharmacist's cabinet. However, it could not be fully pulled out (1/3 remained inside) and was so packed that it was no longer fun. Today we have treated ourselves to a large 60 cm wide cabinet with 6 drawers. My pride and joy in the kitchen. In one of these drawers I have the spices/spice mixes that I only need occasionally. In a wall cabinet next to the induction hob I have reserved 2 compartments for the regularly used spices (salt, sea salt, herb sea salt, pepper in a shaker and in two mills, paprika, curry, sugar, chili, nutmeg, etc.). Well - as I said: I love spices. Under the induction hob (90 cm) we have two large compartments for pots and pans as well as a compartment for various knives, garlic press, nutmeg grater, small sieves and such stuff.

So, I measured on my Nolte (I have 3 drawers: a 15 cm one on top, below two 30 cm ones) The 15 cm drawer on top has an internal capacity of only about 10.5 cm, this is partly due to the edge of the carcass on top. I use this for our cutlery in our 90 cm width. The 30 cm drawer has an internal height of 27 cm. Ours is stocked like this: Under the cooktop there isn’t one because the induction cooktop technology is there, so there is only a 15 cm blind panel. The spice drawer in the picture is 90 cm wide and next to the cooktop, so you can still open the drawer while cooking. The spices from Ostmann are labeled on top, the others can be quickly labeled with a marker. I have few of those because I already know what’s inside. The baskets are divided into German cooking spices on the left, dried herbs in the middle, and Asian/Indian on the right. Decorative items or the spice mills or fresh peppers find a place on a lazy Susan next to the stove. I also have a lot of vinegar and oils and they’re in a cabinet close to the island in one compartment. In the two 30 cm drawers under the stove itself are small appliances, blending containers, and cooking utensils.

Me too – and cooking.
