Good morning,
our architect has sent us the first draft. What do you think about it?
We basically like the idea. But the garage somehow isn't in the right place.

I would design the entrance area differently so that you look at a door or wardrobe and not at the bedroom. I do not want to walk from the bedroom to the bathroom half-dressed past the entrance.

Yes, I see it the same way as . Basically, I think the building structure on the slope is quite good. But especially if you have the entrance on the "sleeping level," in my opinion, that just doesn't work. In my opinion, you would need a spatially separated and enclosed entrance area/windbreak here. However, this is very difficult with a straight staircase. The size of the house only just allows for a straight staircase (whether you like it or really want it (other staircase designs are more space-saving) is another matter) but not in the constellation with the entrance upstairs. If you don't have additional budget to build an extension as a windbreak, you will hardly manage that. You would have to move the staircase, which leads to a different floor plan, and the house hardly allows for that. Maybe reshuffle again and try a half-turn staircase at the location of the wardrobe/pantry. No idea if that helps, just an idea.

With friends it is arranged like this: to the left of the entrance door the wardrobe, to the right the stairs, opposite a door (yes, it doesn't seem very spacious and has a bit of an apartment building feel) behind which the bedrooms are accessed. It has the advantage of maximum privacy, the view is well directed towards the stairs since it is bright there, the bedrooms are quiet. It doesn't matter whether there is coming and going, or loud talking downstairs.
