I would also arrange the living areas like this. For us, the kitchen is in the south, the dining room in the south and west, and the living room northwest. Since we only stay in the living room in the evening, we also deliberately arranged it that way, and the exit from the kitchen onto the terrace makes much more sense.

Do you really need 3 showers/bathrooms?

And would the staircase be worth an expensive bay window to me? I don't think so. I don't like the solution that much.

How big is the kitchen? The dimensions are missing here.

The access to the bedroom through the dressing room is a matter of taste. But you should consider that small children sometimes need someone at night. And always first through the dressing room... That can literally go wrong ;) but everyone has to decide that for themselves.

I also don't like the T-solution in the bathroom. I recently read about an issue with backflow from the toilet into the walk-in shower - yuck! Personally, I think bathrooms look much smaller because of it than they really are.

Flat-roof houses can be very nice if the planner can also work with overhangs, etc. Otherwise, I don't find it nice.
So the most important thing: find a good, experienced flat-roof planner! They will create something wonderful for you.

Hello milkie,

thanks for your comments! You actually addressed exactly the topics that we quite like, but on which we would also like to be "enlightened" a bit better. But let's go step by step:

The shower bath on the ground floor is practically a must, since, for example, my parents sometimes visit for three or four weeks straight and I always find it really annoying when they spread their belongings all over the bathroom. So the shower bath belongs to the guest room in the basement :)

The kids' bathroom upstairs is still an open point… In the original draft it wasn’t included, as the kids' rooms were a bit bigger, however, the left one was quite "narrow" and didn’t really convince us. And if we assume that two kids in their teenage years sometimes take a long time using the bathroom… However, our hearts are not really attached to the kids' bathroom. It would be nice if we can manage without it, but if we can realize other clever solutions instead, we would gladly go along with that.

Backflow from the toilet into the shower???? Where did you read that? That really interests me now. Yuck! o_O

The flat roof is indeed planned with an overhang :) Although we would also find it quite nice without it (keyword: Bauhaus style), with an overhang it will definitely look even better :)

Best regards,
Sandra

Oh yes, the kitchen would be about 10sqm here.

When I read that the shower bath is for long-term guests, but the guest room is in the basement, then something is not right. I have absolutely nothing against toilets on the ground floor next to the front door, but if the shower toilet is also often supposed to be used for showering, it should not be planned directly next to the front door (I speak from experience). In addition, the shower toilet should be placed as close as possible to the guest room...

In my opinion, the kitchen is very well located in the southeast.

The stairwell should/can be integrated into the carport. But as Milkie says: a good architect knows how to make a Bauhaus-style house look elegant – when I imagine the north view, the stair does not look so great. Staggered floors, overbuilds, or additions cost money, but should be possible in the BH style :) In my opinion, when it comes to the BH style, you have more freedom with the windows and are not bound to symmetry. Varied window design makes the facade exciting – but that does not make window planning any easier :)

I would like to know whether in 15 years the "modern" T in the bathroom will be knocked out again because people want spaciousness and area?! ;)

I don't want to appear petty now, but where is the kitchen in the southeast? The kitchen is in the south.

As for the shower bathroom and the guest room, I would indeed place the bathroom in the basement. If necessary, one has to work with a lifting system, but that is better than on the ground floor then.
