Good morning
Okay, for today I plan to draw the floor plan including the furniture we already have in 2D.
I hope I can manage that soon.

Regards

I also think it’s important to finally clarify the orientation. How is the house / the floor plan positioned on the plot? It seems to me that you don’t even know yourselves anymore.

But we do know, I'll show you later. The floor plan is as shown but already oriented to the north. Entrance at the top... Later it will turn into something great.

I absolutely agree with you. I am only talking about cases where it might not be possible to place the children's rooms in the south without having to make compromises regarding comfort, size, and layout of the bedroom, bathroom, office, etc. It is also a question of priorities. For example, I placed great value on the parents' bedroom not bordering a child's room, which is why I placed both children's rooms and the guest room on one side, and the parents' bedroom with dressing room and bathroom on the other side of the hallway. It was unavoidable that one child's room ended up in the northwest.

In principle, I am a fan of bright rooms, but I think today's architecture and the desire for gigantic window areas is excessively exaggerated. I would rather forgo some light than sit on display like in a zoo opposite the neighbors. For this reason, in my opinion, the topic of light and windows is very individual, which is why many pieces of advice on this matter in the forum make me frown a bit.

I see the master bedroom in the southeast on the plans. I’m curious how it actually is. Our 3 children's rooms are, just like the master bedroom, oriented to the south. The master bedroom also has a window to the east, one of the children's rooms has a small window to the west. All floor-to-ceiling windows are about 2.40 meters wide facing south. It was important to us during planning that everyone has access to the balcony, which runs the entire width of the house. Now, 15 years later, I probably wouldn’t do it that way anymore. At the latest when the children work or play a lot on screens, the sun is disturbing – despite a large roof overhang, here the shutters are actually almost completely closed from noon on. Our eldest doesn’t like heat at all. He would probably be happier with a room on the north/west side with light from two directions. It would still be bright enough. So it really varies individually and shouldn’t be a dogma to necessarily have the children’s rooms facing south. But Katja’s objection is also justified. What is the alternative? Something has to face south. The width of the children’s rooms seems way too small to me. We have the same length, a width of 3.15 to 3.30. There is very little room for furnishing. A bed (140x200) next to the door just fits. A closet behind the door then not at all. Today I would actually pay attention to more square dimensions.

I think it's wonderful.

Not me. I don't care about the neighbors. I'm a regular at the nudist beach anyway, one neighbor is a nurse at my gynecologist's — she has even seen me from the inside, and the rest can just look away.
You would also be surprised how little other people look into your house, even if they had the chance. Sure, there are a few peepers in the world, but most prefer to look at some screens.
