Regarding the eternal "children's rooms belong in the south" discussion, which I can hardly listen to anymore:
There are certainly adolescents (myself included back then) who don't like it when the room gets scorching hot in summer. Summers aren't supposed to get colder either.
When I was old enough to do homework alone in my room, school was out so late that in winter I only had about an hour of decent daylight. So I had to turn on the light again.
During the transitional season, it was somewhat optimal, but such things hardly exist nowadays...
I think that's nonsense. We played a lot in our children's rooms as kids. It was great that we had the sun in the room. And for heat, there's cooling. However, I wouldn't overestimate it. What I find especially important is light from two sides.
