So we recently installed the Ikea Strömlinje along the entire length of the upper cabinets and we like it very much. We also thought about the Irsta, BUT that only works if you also have an Ikea kitchen. The Ikea upper cabinets are significantly deeper, so you can't install the Irsta on most other upper cabinets!

Of course you can. You just have to saw off 7 cm. I knew from the start that I wouldn't get by without some tinkering. No matter what you use if you want it to look good. Sure, everyone has their own ideas of what is good and what is not. I come from the camp where lighting should be as inconspicuous as possible and the technology shouldn't or must not be visible at all. Yes, that's true if you rely on the remote controls. Then it's clearly interesting at first but then you lose the parts and always have to look for them, etc. In this household it’s different. We only have the remotes at the TVs. Everything else operates automatically, including the tunable white lights. Then you don't even notice it anymore but use the full potential. The main lighting in the kitchen is also TW, so also the question whether it makes sense for the countertop or if a fixed value is sufficient there. Possibly something around 3500K P.S. Pictures would really be helpful...

You want to cut 7 cm off the Irsta panel? I would doubt that this is possible. Just take a look at the installation manual. I don’t know how it should be possible to shorten the panel by 7 cm there.

I don't want to, that's one of the reasons why it falls out of the list. But it's not harder than replacing/repairing the lighting in an LED TV. It's the same principle... but that's just by the way.

I also wouldn't know where the difficulty lies in cutting some aluminum profiles and a plexiglass sheet to the required dimensions. But as I said, that's secondary.

If TW is important to you, then I wouldn't exclude these light bulbs from it. Mixed colors look stupid.

Hello Mycraft... I solved it this way. It is dimmable, but even at a low level it is already perfectly illuminated. LED strip and frosted plexiglass in front. Best regards
