We had these IRSTA parts under every wall cabinet in our Ikea kitchen. After we sold them because of a move, as wall cabinets were not possible there, we currently have the same problem. The Ikea cabinets don't look quite as clever from below, so today I ordered these IRSTA parts again directly; they are not available in any Ikea store, only online. They cover the entire underside and provide nice light, so despite the quite high price, we are opting for them again. We didn't like any other alternatives because of the less attractive underside.

I have now ordered 5x 60x30 panels for the time being. Let's see how it looks when they arrive. Until then, the splashback still needs to be done. It is also not installed yet, let alone the tiles are on site (they will only arrive on Tuesday). Since yesterday, the hood has been hanging and it already provides quite good light on the peninsula.

With that, you should be able to produce more even light than is beneficial. PWM-free dimmability is the trump card that now works in your favor.

Certainly. It will be enough to illuminate the entire room 3 times, but that is absolutely no obstacle.

It is about the uniformity and not the punctual or linear lighting. The desired brightness is only a secondary matter.

Maybe too late, but still the tip against ugly underside methods: mount a covering panel underneath. It looks like the front.

True. I still had two cover sides left from the side, and now that you mention it, that could also be an idea for the bottom. Originally, we had even built the back panel from such a cover side. Thanks for that... we'll see...
