As I am now waiting for the panels, I think it is time to install the manual control. For this purpose, a capacitive touch sensor near the cooktop is to be used. Approximately at that spot (for this I have to route from below the countertop with a router since it is a bit thicker than the 25mm which the sensor can penetrate):

The sensor is intended to enable manual control of the countertop lighting, extractor fan lighting, and control of the ventilation levels. I am still considering to what extent automation will be added. As often, I think it will come over time.

For those who do not know the device:
The ProxyTouch is a capacitive touch sensor that can be installed behind surfaces such as ceramic, wood, and glass.
You can operate it, but not see it. The sensors can be addressed together, individually, or by swipe gestures.
The function: If you touch the surface behind which the device is installed, the assigned action, e.g., switching, dimming, operating blinds, etc., is executed.

[*]Capacitive touch sensor (ideal for ceramic, wood, glass) for material thickness up to 25 mm
[*]Three sensor fields enable button, double-click, and swipe gestures (with adjustable acoustic feedback)
[*]Sensor fields can alternatively be used as one large field
[*]Up to six switching options + swipe gestures
    [*]Splash-proof plastic housing (210x140x11mm)
[*]Cleaning mode (optionally with acoustic feedback)

The touch sensor is installed and works as desired. Surprisingly, the double click is also quite easy. For now, it only turns on the lights in the dining room and the sockets in the kitchen. Because the countertop lighting is not finished yet.

Meanwhile, until the lighting arrives, I started working on the tile backsplash today. But for now, it was necessary to drill and install another socket.

Hmm, it would be new to me that countertops are particularly sensitive and that already lying tools cause damage.

The tile backsplash and lighting are almost finished. Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, it got late yesterday and they were quickly shot with the phone under less than ideal lighting conditions.

For the countertop lighting, this is the maximum brightness but of course it will still be adjusted according to the users' specifications or it is supposed to adjust itself.

The silicone joints and various small things are still missing. But more or less, this construction site is finished.

Did you also glue and grout the tiles? Or are those panels?
