Roof covering and solar technician selection - Decision?

I just calculated it with 35 cents electricity price. My system comes to 9.8 years amortization, with yours I would be at 14 years. Both are not bad values, but proper design plus battery is the trump.

Emergency power is something everyone has to decide for themselves, in these crazy times currently imo a must-have.

Ok thanks for the feedback. But have you ever done the calculation with/without storage? I would be interested in the difference.

PS: yes, times are crazy, but at least with us there has been no power outage since the start of the war.

... and the crux of the emergency power story is anyway the "Black Start Capability". Otherwise, without an external grid, even with a full roof and a large battery, nothing works at all.

Do you sometimes listen to yourself? Your system is therefore black start capable in this case. The majority of inverters cannot do this, not even yours without an additional box. "Sure, it works" is therefore, as so often with you, a statement to be taken with caution, because it is not true as generally as you say. If you want the emergency power function during a longer grid outage, you have to pay close attention to that.

Well, my Fronius gen24 is also black start capable, completely without additional installation.

Without a battery, I estimate 12 years. If you have an eCar, of course you can also use this battery to increase self-consumption.

Actually, black start means that the device restarts without a battery. The battery would be empty after 1-3 days. Exactly that the Symo GEN24 cannot do either, at least I researched intensively last year and found this function nowhere. But I am happy to be convinced otherwise.
