Understood, thanks! :-)

What I’m not quite clear about, however, is the relationship between kVA and kWp.. the inverter provides a maximum of 10 kVA at its output. Does that mean that only a maximum of 10 kWp can be fed in or directed into the house simultaneously?

I consider that not excluded. Otherwise, I wouldn’t even cover the north. ;-) My 12 kWp south system, for example, sometimes delivers 13 kW. Correct, it can generate a maximum of 10 kW on the AC side. That really causes a lot of loss in summer. At the moment, everyone is celebrating the abolition of the 70% rule and your solar installer wants to install 58%... Maybe he could still push something into a storage system, but that’s not enough.

Oh dear. Then that is really either ignorance of the solar technician or deliberate "rip-off"...

Why pointless? My house simply consumes around 4000 kWh for a household with 2 people working from home and another 4000 for the air-water heat pump ….. since I found the first figure very high for 2 people, I had it discussed in this forum and others also came up with these values …. We have a ventilation system, a robotic lawn mower, 2 electric garage doors and an infrared cabin, etc. etc., it adds up …. Also, the new 65-inch TV is A++ rated but honestly, it does consume quite a bit … So what exactly do you mean by pointless?

And our electric car isn’t even included in that …

Hello again everyone,

so, since I no longer feel good about the first solar installer with his strange 10 kW inverter, I am now leaning more towards solar installer 2. I just spoke with him on the phone and although he doesn’t yet have references on the website, he has already installed several systems (he only got his master craftsman certificate last year) and I also know two others from the construction area who recommend him.

And he is really very cheap. Here are the technical details again:

- 20.9 kWp
- 51 x JinkoSolar solar module Tiger NE HC N-Type sw JKM410N-54HL4-B
- 2 x SMA inverter STP10.0-3SE-40
- 1 x SMA Sunny Home Manager HM-20
- I will leave out the other materials, but all installation, planning and commissioning services are also included here
- Costs: €25,570 net, thus €1,223

Just want to make sure that everything is okay or if there is some “problem” hidden that I might not see with my dangerous half-knowledge ^^ The 2 inverters should fit, the modules too. Otherwise, anything I should pay attention to?

Many thanks in advance!

4000 kWh for 2 “noses” is definitely (too) much. And no, the 100 kWh for the 65-inch, 5 kWh for the doors, or 25-50 kWh for the mower are not the main drivers here. Ventilation system depends on model, operating hours, and level. It can be 100 or even 500 kWh. Infrared cabin is of course user-dependent.
