I am currently still in the basic supply of EnviaM and pay 48.08 cents per kWh for my electricity. Therefore, I would of course be very grateful for a tip under 30 cents. It may be that such a thing exists, but not for me.

Including electric water heating, I need about 5000 kWh per year.

What interests me about an ROI or a payback period? Not at all. The system was financed with equity. The money is simply on the roof.

Without photovoltaics + storage, I would have nearly 2000 euros in electricity costs in 2023. With the system, I only have 500 euros in electricity costs despite an almost doubled electricity price. That’s 1500 euros in savings.

I no longer pay these 1500 euros to the energy supplier; instead, it goes back into my account. And since my system with storage cost 11,000 euros, it is basically amortized after 7.5 years. You can only guess where electricity prices will be in 10 years. Certainly not at today’s level. They will certainly not drop significantly either. In 10 years, we’re talking about 80, 90, or 100 cents per kWh. If that is enough.

Anyone who now argues that the kWh costs 30 cents again is only thinking from noon to midday. Electricity prices will rise and not by a little.

The good news is that both photovoltaics and storage are in free fall in terms of price. All the sadder is what some craftsmen charge people for it. But the worst are Enpal ... whatever. I can only advise against rushing anything because of the last few months, there is still a lot of price movement. Anyone who can build themselves should fully equip their roof.

And of course the storage debate has flared up again, everyone has to decide for themselves.

Regarding emergency power supply: to be honest, I consider it a gimmick. If there is a widespread power outage lasting several days, we will all have other problems than supplying power to our TV.

Just calculated it with 35 cents electricity price. My system comes to 9.8 years amortization, with yours it would be 14 years. Both are not bad values, but proper design plus battery is Trump.

Emergency power is up to everyone, in these crazy times currently imho a MustHave.
