Hello dear forum,

my name is Alex and after quietly reading along so far, I have finally decided to register here. Since my single-family house is already in the construction phase and we want to move in on 1.4.2020, we are currently thinking about a meaningful and stylish design of the outdoor area...
above all, it is about the positioning of the terrace, which should be directed more towards the main garden (not as drawn in the plan).
The next question would also be how big the terrace should be. A pool should also have space later.
Since the house already has clear lines, I want to be a little more "bold" with the garden design. That means that more playful lines and dissolved shapes can definitely be integrated here. The proposals from the local landscape designers have not pleased us so far.

I would be very happy about your tips and suggestions.
kind regards
Alex

What do you have in mind? Can you be a bit more specific, also about what you didn't like about the plans. Terrace to the kitchen is not a mistake. The terrace doesn't have to be square, you can shape it round or angled. Does the B'Plan specify any planting?

What does it look like? Do you have children, so you need a kids' corner? What about some usable space? Berries, fruit trees, vegetable gardening? You can't go through the corner windows? Kitchen is in the west? There is a Terra door there? And start the planning here! If that is the case, the evening dining circle and grill should definitely be planned there by the kitchen. In the south, a sun plateau is enough, with the pool there as well. The plateau can then go halfway around the pool, but connected with the other terrace* Planting or further division I would only do when it is roughly clear how the sight lines from inside, for example from the sofa to outside, are etc. Oh yes, and the style should also be somewhat limited. Either the farmhouse garden with straight hedges mixed with roses or rather prairie or grasses or everything mixed. What do you not like about the architect's design now? * I like the combination of terrace stones and then a plateau made of wood, possibly oval or around a round? pool as a half-moon...

Is the plot completely flat? Where are the neighboring buildings located? Is there a view in any direction? Regarding the questions from : If there are children - where to put the bicycles / vehicles,

I tried to roughly locate your property. The house seems rather modern (corner window), so I wouldn't give the terrace too baroque shapes. One idea (see sketch) would be to use the orientation of the property boundaries as a reference for the terrace. This results in a southeast terrace and a southwest terrace. Also keep in mind, a pool needs equipment and at least electricity for that. Having space for pool cleaning supplies nearby is also good, so I would place it near your storage room.
