New construction with little time - experiences?

OT: I'm amazed that men want a cinema. I don't know a single man in my entire family who likes to watch movies. Football - okay. But it's not the World Cup all the time. So what do the men watch there? Porn?

That's what I call a woman with imagination. The fact that the men in your family don't want to watch Rosamunde Pilcher on Sunday evenings doesn't mean they have nothing to do with movies...

I believe that varies a lot. Including myself, most of my friends can't get into football, but we do like to watch good movies and series often. If I had the money (and the time to use it properly), a home cinema would also be on my list.

Absolutely! Football is dead boring, does anyone still watch it?? Netflix and good movies, I'm all in immediately. I find the huge LED TVs completely sufficient, I don't need a projector.

Then I must really have bad luck with the men here. They don’t watch crime, action, or science fiction either – nothing at all. The only thing that sometimes plays are news and documentaries about some excavation sites – endlessly. I’m slowly getting tired of these documentaries. Soon I’ll know every stone from way back in every country. Who keeps paying for them over and over? And above all, what do we want with all that old junk?

My wife and I are total series junkies and also like to watch all kinds of movies big and loud. In the past, without children, we went to the cinema 3 times a month... today the cinema is just at home. Great Atmos sound isn't available in the cinema anyway. And picture quality on a Sony A1 (HDR assumed) is already better than in the cinema. Tip: Last Transformers in 4k with HDR and Atmos... really GREAT! I've already watched it 3 times at our place..
