The intersection of Lindenstraße and the high-quality produced American series is exactly as large as that of strawberry jam and a backhoe.

What the farmer doesn't know...

Strawberry jam must be available in quantities that can only be moved with the [Schaufeldradbagger]!!1!. It's obvious!

But isn’t it boring to keep spinning a story all the time? I want to be done with it at some point. I get fidgety even with long movies. I don’t like going to the cinema because when I get bored, I can’t just get up in the middle.
Sex in the City I used to watch now and then while channel surfing. Pretty nice, but I never understood the hype...
I sometimes watch Dr. House with (my boyfriend is into it); the one-liners are okay, but otherwise it all just repeats itself.

I’m obviously the wrong audience. I once went to a Bond movie with the whole neighborhood. The one where at the beginning he falls off a train from some bridge into a river in Turkey and is nursed back to health by a sexy Turkish woman in a bikini (totally realistic that such a Turkish woman dresses like that in the boring countryside of Turkey and fishes injured men out of the river!) through sexual healing.
At that point, my personal willingness to suspend disbelief was exhausted and I thought, “you don’t survive that!!!”
Neighborhood: “Come on, it’s a BOND movie!!!”
… then the theme song and credits came…
In the end, Judy Dench dies. Also lame.
And I can’t go to the fridge to get enough wine so that my little man in my ear doesn’t keep buzzing “this doesn’t work, no one survives, such nonsense, you should look it up on the internet, that can’t be true” but shuts up (which my liver wouldn’t appreciate in the long run either)
Haven’t been to the cinema since.

The last movie my husband enthusiastically watched together with me in the cinema was "Avatar" in 3D. He thought it was cool because of the animations and the 3D effects. I don't pressure him anymore, since he left in the middle of the film last time.

Brother in spirit!

Whereas Avatar would absolutely be nothing for me.

I couldn’t have put it better!!!! Thumbs up! GZSZ and GoT or Breaking Bad... there’s a whole universe in between. I once watched an episode of GZSZ... afterwards I googled what the “actors” earn... I thought they must all be millionaires, voluntarily making fools of themselves. Not at all. 30..60k gross per year (depending on how long they are there). I couldn’t stop laughing... I’d rather clean toilets for less than make a fool of myself like that. But GZSZ fits well with the dumb German "Michel" people.
