I still have to clarify with our lighting planner which color temperature should be planned. He believes that a uniform color temperature should be planned throughout the entire house and suggests 2700 Kelvin (3000 for outside). Currently, we mostly have 3000 Kelvin in our apartment and actually find it quite nice that way. He strongly advises against mixing color temperatures – definitely within individual rooms but also throughout the entire house. How do you see it? I had actually thought so far that different color temperatures could make sense especially for lighting scenes with KNX, even within a room, and that, for example, ceiling spots and wall lights could be planned with different color temperatures. But he says this should not be done. He sees my preference for 3000 Kelvin – if at all – only for the kitchen. I am still considering it. I can still imagine, for example, equipping pendant lights over the dining table in the living room and wall lights with a different color temperature than the ceiling spots. And especially in the office, I want functional lighting – I don’t see 2700 K there – at least not if it is the only possible scene. We have not discussed an even wider color temperature spectrum. I am interested in thoughts and opinions on this – fully aware that it is always a matter of taste.
