Nope. How else should that be implemented in a corporate network?
Anyway, others have already given you some tips. Get something cheap. You don't need the expensive enterprise features.

Hopefully no cheap consumer technology is used in companies. Then the network will work fine.

Okay.. the only question left is about the manufacturer... Zyxel? Netgear? TP-Link? D-Link? Ubiquiti? Where are the best price/performance winners?

We have 24 network sockets, each double, so 48 ports (plus router/Fritzbox, which also need space on the switch). In the medium term, I don't need all 48 simultaneously. Some rooms currently don't require network (the kids are still offline, the who-knows-what-I-plan-to-do socket in the attic is unused ...) and in others I only use one port of the double socket. So it was clear that I can easily manage with a "smaller" switch. I would have no reservations about setting up a daisy chain later.

You just got me to start counting.

At first, I came up with 7 rooms with a total of 8 duplex sockets = 16 ports. Then I remembered the duplex socket for the phone in the hallway, and since the router will be in the basement in the HAR, the connections on the ground floor and upper floor for one access point each. That makes 20 ports and the 24-port switch is almost full.

The simple solution like used will probably be enough for me too. I also see a later expansion in series as unproblematic.

Just take a look at the freely available tests on the internet, there is plenty of material and simply choose a switch where the price/performance ratio is right. As other users have already said, you won't need the enterprise features.

For example, I have a simple 24-port switch from Allnet (because I wanted a fanless one) and an 8-port one from Linksys for POE... there are over 30 ports connected to the patch panels, but only about 20 are operated simultaneously... both switches do what they're supposed to and daisy-chaining in a single-family home causes no problems... as others have said, how would it work in larger companies etc. if not partially by daisy-chaining???
