As always here, one's own is the maximum that all people need and anyone who does more/better is attempted to be discredited.

Well, I wouldn't say discrediting in this thread either. Everyone simply has their own opinion on it and naturally sees that as the optimum. If someone does more, you naturally first see it as unnecessary, because you don't have that use case yourself.

It's the same discussion as with home automation. I've also discussed it a lot within my circle of friends, and those who don't have it say they don’t need such a gadget. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to miss it anymore.

For every OP, it ultimately applies: They have to pick out the arguments and information relevant to them.

Speaking of information, an additional note: At first, PoE was mentioned. My 24-port switch doesn't have PoE because I don't have any devices for it yet, but some will be coming soon. However, large switches with PoE always have a more or less loud fan. As soon as I need it, I will get an 8-port switch with PoE additionally, since those usually don't need a fan yet.

I have had a (dual) network connection installed in almost every room as well, the additional cost is negligible, but the later effort for retrofitting is enormous. Even my garage is networked. For all Wi-Fi fans: This way I can set up 25 APs in the house. Although I have planned PoE for cameras, I will get a small switch for that later when I install the cameras.

One more thing about the switch with PoE. It is usually not a problem, but when comparing different types and manufacturers, one should check how many watts they can provide in total or per port.
