Hello,

I hope I am posting in the right section

I have a question, what kind of mailbox would you recommend to us?

A normal mailbox on stands or a mailbox with a parcel box?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of such a parcel box?

Do you also have a parcel box and could share your experiences?

If you are at home at the usual times -> no need If you are not at home at the usual times -> everything to the [Packstation]

The question is, do you need a parcel box and especially how big does the box need to be so that the common packages fit inside?

We don't have one because we don't need one. DHL, DPD and Hermes have permission to leave packages on the terrace.

What I didn't like about the parcel box back then was that you basically give an automatic consent to leave the package. Admittedly, most of the time nothing happens, especially not in the countryside, but you are basically relying on the honesty of the delivery drivers. If they claim they left something in the box, then take it with them and you complain that it didn't arrive, you have no legal recourse against DHL. Not dramatic if you occasionally order this or that, but for insured packages with expensive contents, I would always have them sent to a branch or [Packstation]. That wouldn't help me in everyday life; I would find it more inconvenient than without a parcel box.

Do you have neighbors who can accept packages?

I can only speak for myself, but I see a parcel box as about as useful as nonsense on a heel.
Either I am at home, let the package (I have given DHL permanent permission) simply be placed on the terrace, give it to the neighbors, or have it delivered to the next box (whether DHL or Amazon). To be useful (for me), the box would already have to be quite large.
In the end, the enormously high extra cost for a box that is mostly not even needed is not worth it to me.

Conclusion: Nice to have, but not before at least number 735 on my list for the next house build.
