Could really happen like that ://

At first, I thought it might not be a bad thing.

And the parcel boxes without electronics end up costing hardly more than a regular mailbox

We don't have a parcel box and depending on the day, the package is just somehow left in front of the door even though we are at home. When it rains and everything gets wet, I sometimes complain. Most of the time, though, I just feel sorry for the people and let it go.

For me, there was one time when the package was just left in front of the door in the rain; otherwise, it was always just stuffed into the regular mailbox where anyone could simply pull it out again.

Or it gets delivered to the neighbor.

I currently don’t know if the neighbors are even home during the day to accept it and if they even do that.
So would you rather say without a parcel box?

So if there are no problems with the delivery people in your area, and nothing usually goes missing, there’s not much against a parcel box (except the price). I would just distance myself from the idea that they will still ring the doorbell. I assume everything that fits into the box will end up in there. If you’re not home during the day on weekdays anyway, the advantages probably outweigh the disadvantages.

Personally, I wouldn’t do it, but that’s because I can usually open the door for the delivery person, and because I have had bad experiences in the past with dishonest parcel deliverers.

Even if your delivery people are fine at the moment, and problems should arise at some point, you could always take the thing down again.

Are you the very first ones building? Normally, you get to know your neighbors and can then ask about matters like this. You also don't necessarily have to have everything perfect for the move. If in doubt, you can first put a box with a note saying "Mailbox" and then take your time to think about it.

I don't see any disadvantage if the couriers use the box without ringing. I even think it's good. The courier has it easier and you yourself are not disturbed.
