Grease stains come off well on porcelain stoneware. Concrete is more sensitive and harder to clean. We have a few hundred square meters of porcelain stoneware on the terrace and also concrete on garden paths, etc. Porcelain stoneware also works great with machine cleaning or high-pressure cleaners. Even light-colored slabs get hot when they are directly in the sun. The surface makes a subjective difference.

As a provisional solution, we had the remnants of the driveway paving on the terrace: KANN paving stones. After 3 years, they were so stained and germy thanks to animal carcasses (3 cats), 2 children (fruit stains), and my husband (who accidentally poured fryer fat there). No scrubbing or cleaning helped. Stay away from it. Porcelain stoneware is ideal by contrast. We have 3cm slabs (80x40) laid on a gravel bed. I am happy.

I would definitely install porcelain stoneware, preferably in large formats. 80/80 is not that expensive anymore and looks really great.

Is it really that bad because of the pollution? My thought was also to first use a normal KANN paving stone, which we also use in the entrance area, in the terrace area. And if it's worn out in 10 years, to replace it. Is this Betonplus better? Or does it make no difference?

When it comes to low maintenance and children, WPC immediately comes to mind, barefoot boards without splinters, wood 75%/plastic 25% mixture, closed deck. Everyone here walks barefoot, in socks or slippers in and out, and the little ones slide on their knees behind them. They get as warm as stone, just provide shade in the summer and it’s fine. The anti-plastic faction here in the forum, who have vinyl, laminate or linoleum in the house, is hereby awakened again
