a real construction road is made of recycling. that is ideal for a paved surface. so why remove it?! most of the time the construction road is placed exactly where the access path will be later, so that costs are only incurred once.
and directly under the stones there should be crushed sand, not gravel. coarse gravel is no longer really used today, because for example ants can get through and hollow out the whole thing. crushed sand is compacted so hard by vibrating the stones that nothing can get through.
otherwise have fun, the next days/week will be exciting because you can finally see a change outside (it’s been a long time since the house was permanently finished on the outside at the end of the shell construction, and that was a long time ago ). when the garden area is "flattened", the cozy atmosphere won’t be far away anymore.
ps: it shouldn’t rain between laying the stones and vibrating them, or the stones need to be covered. otherwise the whole thing might sink. this was done that way for us, but not for the neighbor. you can already see it after a few weeks...
